Yes, I am happy to confirm that I'm still alive :) I survived Term 2 (in a fashion) and am in the process of recovering and catching up on the important stuff. Like drinking, shopping and Battlestar Galactica.
Truth be told, I'm not sure how I managed to make it this far without having someone spoil Battlestar for me. All it would take to ruin the whole thing would be a simple "[so-and-so] is a cylon!". I guess there isn't enough of a following, and the people who do follow it are good folks - folks who understand the importance of not being spoiled. Who are these frakin' cylons anyway?! Wait, don't answer that - lalala, I can't hear you!!
I can remember posting my lame Harry Potter theories on a competitor's blog site. Lol. Completely pathetic, but some of my predictions were accurate. SPOILER ALERT - don't read this paragraph if you haven't read HP but plan to!! I said all along that one of the Weasley twins would die and that Snape was good. So excited about the new movie, it looks awesome.
Why are we so easily seduced by a good story? It's not like it's anything new - these stories have been told over and over again in one way or another, and yet we still fall for it. An epic battle of Good vs Evil is basically what many of them boil down to and they all end in more or less the same way. But add some other form of mystery and that'll be enough to sustain my interest. Which is not to say that it's an easy job creating a decent story, I sure as hell couldn't do it! It's an artform requiring as much skill as any - hats off to the writers who can pull it off. The world would be a bloody dull place without such yarns to keep us amused.
Enough yapping, back to Battlestar :)
